I'm getting rather tired of Moc consistently releasing stellar products at unbeatable prices, with the most professional customer service on top. Aren't you ashamed to force near-minimum wage workers like me to spend hundreds of dollars on building a great movie library? You ought to...

I just think they should kidnap Kalat and make him do commentaries on everything. He's got some weird job in library science now! How does that entertain me while I watch a movie?

Fuck me. I've made a large order:
Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? - BD
Make Way for Tomorrow - BD
Profound Desires of the Gods - BD
The Burmese Harp - BD
La Signora Di Tutti
Le Grand jeu
Police
There's Always Tomorrow
It doesn't even add up to a hundred bucks. At that price, it would've been stupid not to fill gaps in my collection.

I think this is the only time where I preferred the higher prices since I felt so guilty for buying at such ridiculous markdowns.
Phantom
Police
Tokyo Sonata BD
I'm sure I'll get more.

It's not my favourite Dreyer and MoC's artwork is one of their weakest (especially in comparison to the Criterion; the original cover choice was far better!) but the Del Toro commentary was just too tempting at this price, so their release of Vampyr will now be sitting next to the Crit on my shelf.

You won't regret it, that commentary is fantastic. I'm having a really hard time convincing myself that being broke is a good reason not to buy at least the Rock Hudson, Make Way, and Signora di Tutti.

I wish I could spend more, but for $50 I got:
Sunrise BD
City Girl BD
The World BD
A Time to Love and a Time to Die 2XDVD
Absolutely great deal, thanks MoC/Eureka!

Wow, everyone is as broke as I am. I got La Signora di Tutti and Les Maitres du Temps - the deluxe Laloux's from MoC are among their best, this being my last one to get. What a shame that Gandahar is going out of print, I've screened it for and recommended it to many many people who all loved it.

I'll bet anything that if Eureka held their sales at the beginning of the month (when people have more money) they would have lots more sales...

Has anyone received a shipping confirmation from Eureka? I placed my order on Monday and only got a Paypal receipt. I haven't heard anything from Eureka. Is this normal?

I can't recall for sure, but I don't think they send shipping confirmation. But they are reasonably prompt when shipping...so not to worry.

They're also very good about replacing lost orders, if that ever comes up

Yes, that's normal. I've never received a shipping confirmation from Eureka on prior orders, but everything ends up in my hands in about a week. Also this from their terms and conditions:
Please note you will not receive an email acknowledgement or despatch confirmation, please take your receipt from PayPal as both. All stock (except where noted) is on hand and will be despatched within 24 (working) hours.

I definately agree (and if I hadn't bought so much work equipment this month I'd pick up a few non-MOC's while I can), but I'm happy to report I've last night laid down a whopping order on behalf of a non-paypal using friend of mine for:
Toni
Shoeshine
Buster Keaton
La Vie de Jesus
Muriel
M
Frau im Mond
Nous ne Vieillirons
Passe ton Bac d’Abord
Sous le Soleil de Satan
A Nous Amours
La Gueule Ouverte
L’Enfance-Nue
There's Always Tomorrow
A Time to Love and a Time to Die
I'm feeling a bit glum about the cost of that shipping out being on Eureka's shoulders, what with the already weighty price drop, but I guess that kind of sale is just begging for large orders. Thanks again Eureka (on behalf of my chum).

2010: it was called a credit crunch!
It's not nice to mock those who can't MOC themselves.

What's the credit crunch got to do with having a credit card particularly? I'm a student for Christ's sake and even I have two of them. It's not exactly difficult to get credit unless you've been a fool in the past.
You can either afford the DVDs or not. Having a credit card will just allow you be more flexible with your spending. It doesn't really broach the issue of being able to afford something.

My package from Eureka arrived today with Sunrise, La Planete Sauvage, Tokyo Sonata, Mad Detective, Vengeance Is Mine, Une Femme Mariee and Paranoiac! Good job it's my long weekend off! Must try to avoid looking at that sale page again until after the 28th though!

Is the Burmese Harp blu a significant improvement over the Criterion? It sounds fascinating (though the only Ichikawa I've seen was Tokyo Olympiad, which was amazing) but the Beaver comparison makes it unclear which is the way to go.

I thought the sale would end June the 28th and not the 27th?
Like the British summer this offer won't be around for long, so make sure you take advantage of these wonderful prices before Tuesday 28th June.
