Actually, it looks like the bear was about to eat and/or rape Fraser, but then it realized it's Brendan Fraser and began wondering if he might taste as bad as he acts.

Fraser's been pretty good in a couple movies. I think he, like Mark Wahlberg, just prefers to be in shitty ones, for whatever reasons make sense to their meat based thought processes.

I'm not seeing the awfulness of the BIG FAN cover. I wouldn't say it's especially attractive - it's really pretty generic - but I wouldn't say it's any worse than anything else.

It's unworthy of a movie that's actually pretty great, and doesn't really get across what the movie feels like at all- the cover makes it look like Kicking and Screaming (the Will Ferrel version).

the poorly photoshopped completely blank generic football teams (they couldn't leave the numbers?) ruin it once you've seen the film and are aware of the centrality of his NY Giants obsession and feud with the Eagles (why is the other team red and white?). I'm not saying they should have forked over millions to put them on the cover...that would be stupid. But Patton Oswalt in blue and white facepaint would have made a great cover - a la Avatar

I agree about Frazer's acting talent - GODS AND MONSTERS springs immediately to mind.
Wahlberg at least has the sense to appear in shitty
A movies, though. Fraser is on the fast-track to SyFy and Asylum flicks. (It doesn't help that when he does do a good movie, such as THE QUIET AMERICAN, it all but disappears without a trace.)

Every time I visit this thread I'm amazed at how much effort companies appear to have made in ensuring that only images with 'copyrighted material' plastered across them are allowed to be distributed - more effort than actually making a decent cover for their product; or that actually should have been expended on making a particular film in the first place.
That 'male rape anxiety' review for Furry Vengeance strangely seems to imply that Brendan Fraser has taken on the Susan George role from Straw Dogs, what with all the 'provocative clothing' and 'active gazes of the male construction workers'.

the 2 disc SE of Sierra Madre has the great original poster art cover, and is more than adequate visually...looks fantastic upconverted. frankly, that horrible cover makes me even less likely to double dip on this one. I'm glad more classic stuff is coming to blu - but not if they're going to half-ass it. I'm surprised they didn't call it the "We Don't Need No Stinkin' Badges Edition!"

The pity is that the MALTESE FALCON cover is

Of course, I wasn't expecting the cover for the DVD/Blu release of this film to replicate the theatrical poster and its lovely use of white space, but what's with the colored squares on the borders? The over-sized fonts weren't eating up enough space?
