Maybe it was too early for this forum, but there wasn't a thread for Ray Lawrence's film, and only one post referring to it. So I've created one to note that the play it is based on, Speaking in Tongues by Andrew Bovell, is currently playing in London's West End until 12 December, if any fans of the film are interested.

Details here.

I don't live in London but I loved the film. I'd like to see it again since some details have vanished from my memory. I only saw it once in 2002 (about 7 years ago).

A great cast, but I thought this was quite bombastic and self-indulgent with yet another vague "everybody hurts" Babel-ish message.

The cool formalism Lawrence tried to implement here didn't keep him from tossing in the odd soapy touch here and there... like that awful bit near the end where Lapaglia's police partner meets that guy in the cafe. 'Twas just unnecessary.
