Anyone have any particulars about
this set, due to be released 8 February 2005?
Contains 28 discs, so there has to be quite a few SE's in there...

Even though I already have a few of them that would definitely still be worth getting. I have a few already in there but there's plenty I would still like to get. For what it costs it would definitely be worth getting as it would be a lot cheaper than getting the ones I would like separately. I'm assuming this exclusive to Amazon?

Don't think so.
It's also at DVDEmpire for 149.94 USD. Barnes & Noble has it too, for substantially more.

There also appear to be three mini-versions of this divided by genre:
musical,
drama, and
adventure. More likely, the big set is just these three shrink-wrapped together.

The three genre boxes don't include, Chariots of Fire, Gone With the Wind, or Grand Hotel, so it might be a bit more than a shrink wrap job.

What's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest doing in the adventure films set?

Good eye, sir.

From the back cover:
"It's a wacky adventure when Randle Patrick McMurphy goes to the nuthouse to avoid prison time! Will Nurse Ratched make McMurphy lose his marbles? Will the big Indian go bonkers? You'll go cuckoo with laughter at the on-screen craziness and go batty from the daring exploits in this lovably kooky comedy-adventure from the madcap jester who brought you
Loves of a Blonde!"

The info on the back cover may be stretching things
a little to fit it in the set

It was a joke.
Matt, if you're ever hard up for employment, you could be very successful at writing silly back-cover blurbs. I think the studios would like your technique!

Don't feel bad -- I believed it for a minute, too, partly because I've really read back-cover copy that's just that stupid.

question:
this Warner Best Picture Collection Dramas (Amadeus/Casablanca/Emile Zola/Miniver/Miss Daisy)
Are all the discs SEs? I know Casablanca is the 2 disc, but is Amadeus the 2 disc directors cut version?

No, its the single disc snapper version.
For the Best Picture Collection Adventures set, only Around the World is 2-disc SE, while One Flew Over and Unforgiven are one disc snappers.
For Best Pic Collection Musicals set, only My Fair Lady is 2-disc SE.
