Out of nowhere,
Three Kings is coming on Blu-ray, October 12. Even though its in a despised snapper case, there's no way I'm getting rid of my DVD before I see how they've handled the extreme graininess and color balance of this film.

Well, it's
not entirely out of nowhere, which leads me to wonder where the announcements for
Maltese Falcon and
Treasure of the Sierra Madre are.
I'm definitely waiting to see how they handle the transfer on
Three Kings too. It's a shame that they still can't include
Soldiers Pay.

Oh, right, I guess we did know it was coming, but I guess I meant more that it's not tied to any anniversary or new David O. Russell film (though I guess The Fighter is supposed to come out 6 weeks later) or Veterans' Day or anything else that I can tell.

Agreed—hopefully they've DNR'd that bleach-bipass grain, desaturated the Ektachrome footage and color-balanced everything to a neutral blue! Ammiright? #-o
