Does anybody know if new Pagnol French DVDs: MANON DES SOURCES - UGOLIN and LA FILLE DU PUISATIER have English subtitles, similarly as MARIUS, FANNY, CÉSAR trilogy?

According to http://www.dvdfr.com, only French subtitles, unfortunately.

I did some research a few weeks ago on Manon des Sources. It appears that the only difference between the new release and the old release (which I have) is the sound. It appears that they upgraded the sound on the new release. The old release doesn't have English subs. It appears that the new one doesn't have them, either.

The screenshot from Manon's menu confirms this

Let us hope that the rest of Pagnol movie will be released by Kino

Supposedly the product of 2K transfers and digital restorations, several films written and/or directed by Marcel Pagnol will be released, with English, German, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, and Chinese (!!) subtitles, by CMF Vidéo of France. Among them: LE SCHPOUNTZ, NAÃ

Wonderful news! I'm especially looking forward to seeing Angele (too bad I missed the showing of it at the NGA earlier this year). I hope it will not take them too long (like a few years) to release it.

Some updates posted (in suitably Provencal-accented French) by Nicolas Pagnol in forum threads on the official Pagnol website:

Release dates for Nais and the 1951 Topaze have been progressively delayed, at latest report until Sept 2007; “la restauration de ces films prendra plus de temps que prévuâ€

is the Kino edition of Fanny edited? IMDB lists it at 140 minutes but the disc only runs 121 and there are some hard edits I noticed, mainly the peculiar mid-sentence fade-to-black during Marius and Cesar's meal.

DVDClassik review of the new blu-ray edition of the Marseille Trilogy. Looks like a very significant improvement and it corrects AR of the first two films to 1.20.

Jesus, 100 euros? Marius is one of my favorite films but that's a ridiculous price

The recently released DVD set of "La Trilogie Marseillaise (Marius/Fanny/Cesar)" is listed at Amazon FR as having English subtitles. Can anyone confirm that this is correct? If correct, can one assume that the Blu-ray set also has English subtitles?

I think you can take it as gospel as the old set had english subs but more importantly the DVDKlassik review confirms it.
A review done by a human not a robot and you can see quite clearly on the menu that there are eng subs.

Since I hadn't realized it until today: The restoration of La femme du boulanger was released on blu-ray last year with English subtitles.
