Silence Has No Wings (Kazuo Kuroki, 1966)

This film has been mentioned elsewhere on the forum, mostly in people's lists of films they'd like to see released on DVD/Blu. I watched a fan-subbed version of this last night (beautiful film), but I'm wondering about aspect ratio. For those of you who have seen this in a theatre, what was the AR? IMDB reports 2.35:1, but the one I saw was 4:3. It didn't look obviously cropped, although that can obviously be hard to tell. Thoughts?

I saw a very nice 35mm print a few months ago, and it was 4:3. I can't imagine those compositions in widescreen either.

That's what I thought. IMDB strikes again! Thanks for the info, FG.

It cannot be emphasized enough: IMDb is completely useless with regard to aspect ratios.

Has anyone else been able to find Kuroki's 'new wave' work online or through physical means? Apart from this film (silence), they seem exceedingly difficult to come across.
