I don't have any of the skills they describe, but I'm perfectly willing to bitch about color timing based on my memories of screenings from 30 years ago, publicity stills printed in magazines back in the day, or comparisons with crappy DVD editions from 1999. That's got to count for something.

Sounds like they need someone fast.....for a specific project. Wonder what it is.

As someone who was steered away from a pursuing my dream (of becoming a director) and from taking more film classes in college than I did by a parent (who was paying my tuition) who saw no practical value in pursuing film (in the 80s when renting equipment & buying film added quite a bit to the cost of pursuing a film degree), I'm curious how much jobs in digital restoration like this pay. Anyone?

Probably need long hours for a Rivette film.

They just realized that the rights for all the Rivette films they've been sitting on for ten years expire in October

EDIT: Oh, wait a minute, that's ridiculous. If Criterion discovered that all their Rivette rights were about to expire they'd probably just give a Gallic shrug.

There should be a line in there, "applicants who have anything against film grain can FUCK OFF."

An online editor (aka colorist) for reality television pays 3-5000/week. Scripted television is the same ballpark at the higher end, more like 4-5500/week; features pay more. no idea, at the moment, what the going rate is for a role like this. The hours 4:30-12:30 indicate they want to use the same bay for two consecutive shifts, meaning there's someone working 8:30-4:30, and overtime from that shift has probably been killing them.

If I remember correctly this role pays at least $80 an hour.

Criterion, I know nothing about digital restoration, but I'm a real go-getter and I learn things quickly.

I was making a joke. I think the poster meant to write "4:30pm - 12:30am". That would be a standard 8 hour shift.

Become one of the fabled interns. Maybe YOU can be the one to drive us all nuts by posting phantom web pages.

It's likely nothing, but the inclusion of Sturges on their list of "masters of cinema" will rekindle the flame of hope for a DF upgrade.

It's certainly a tempting opportunity. You get to wear the Criterion livery, with a wacky C on the left breast pocket, and epaulettes!

When Adam Yauch was still with us (RIP MCA), employees reportedly had to wear business formal attire at Oscilloscope. I wonder if this is still true?

Nope, at least not in the storefront portion (which is a working office). But they have a very nice dog.
