Turns out this future is closer than we thought, as
James Dean has been "cast" in a Vietnam action drama and will be portrayed in much the same manner as Cushing was in Rogue One (a combination of archival footage, CGI, and impersonators recreating his voice and mannerisms). His role is described as a "secondary lead."

So we're supposed to believe that the producers scoured the earth for an actor to portray a secondary lead character in their film and decided that one who died in 1955 would be the best choice? The disingenuous nature of that statement irks me more than anything. Just admit it: it's a gimmick that will bring attention to your "dogs in Vietnam" movie.

At least something like Sky Captain used its corpse-digging as one of many gimmicks and it felt right at home. This seems like a no name movie made by no name people trying to get press and complete funding by announcing this and generating attention/outrage

I have no doubt that there are a ton of executives eager to make this technology as cost-effective as possible, as I'm sure it would be far cheaper to pay a dead actor's family than an actual living star.
