Yes, from the classic best-selling novel by... Goethe (who apparently wrote romcoms, too).
Don't know which one is Werther, they all look pretty happy.

Honestly that novella deserves an adaptation like what that cover is selling.

For a book that infamously inspired so many to take their lives after reading it, that poster actually looks exactly right

Read it years ago, it was a bit turgid. If I remember correctly even Goethe was somewhat
embarassed by it in later life.

You have to be the right age when you first encounter it for it to hit right. Like Bright Eyes

The film shockingly doesn’t have bad reviews on Letterboxd, it’s probably just a distributor trying to recoup their investment by making it look like an Apatow film (helped by an Apatow being in it)

Is this a remake or is it the Werther Original?

You know, earlier today I was wondering why someone on this forum hadn't yet told me that there was a new Olivier Assayas film or that it had hit digital, but clearly we have more important things to talk about (like Oliver Reed's dick tattoo)

I'll probably never see Young Werther, just thought the poster art was amusing. I guess
they thought Goethe's name alone wouldn't be a selling point(!)
