Two people found dead in Rob Reiner’s home, identities undisclosed at this time

The LA fire department saying a man and a woman found deceased, approximately 78 and 68 years old.

Not looking good.

Hate to say this, but the ages match those of Reiner and his wife, and I think by law they can't release their names until the next of kin have been notified.

Everything is pointing at that is both Rob and his wife. This is just horrific

Sources are saying the two people were stabbed to death, this is terrifying.

The son, Nick, was co-writer of the Rob Reiner-directed Being Charlie, based on Nick Reiner's substance abuse history.

This is totally fucked.

He had a lot on the horizon. Castle Rock, his production company that gave us Seinfeld, was recently reinvigorated and was developing a slew of new projects.

I really admired his politics and I wish he’d become governor of California instead of fucking Schwarzenegger

An interesting bookend to his theatrical career. I really wish he’d been used more on The Bear, as I thought his character was pretty much the only interesting part of the 4th season

Incredible to consider the amount of films he made that I grew up with and watched on rotation. Indeed, mad to think of how much he made that had such an imprint on culture at the time:
“This one goes up to 11.” Want to see a dead body?” “As you wish.” “I’ll have what she’s having.” “I’m your number one fan.” “You can’t handle the truth.”

Haven’t watched Stand By Me in at least 35 years, and then only a modified copy taped off the TV … with all the sweary bits removed. Think that’s what I’ll watch tonight.

What an incredibly sad situation - Rob's early run of films, for a decade, was phenomenal.

How many directors had as strong a consecutive streak as Reiner did with his first six films (including The Sure Thing, desperately underrated as 80s comedies go)?

This is devastating news. Such a horrible and abrupt way to end a career that still goes very active.

Looking at IMDb, he also recently made the documentary Albert Brooks: Defending My Life for HBO. Wondering if there's a chance this is included in a future release somehow.

He also memorably acted in a lot of big films - and whilst I don't like The Wolf of Wall Street at all, at least he offers some kind of moral compass.
