From dvdactive.com:
Title: Planet of the Apes
Starring: N/A (Various)
Released: 4th April 2006
SRP: $179.98

Further Details:

Fox Home Entertainment has released early details on the Planet of the Apes: Ultimate DVD Collection, a fourteen-disc package that includes the five original movies, along with all fourteen episodes of the TV show, and the 2001 Tim Burton remake. Final details are still a little sketchy I'm afraid, although we can confirm that the set will arrive in a rather elaborate monkey head from the 4th April. The retail price should be set at around $179.98 or thereabouts. The original films will also be available seperately. We'll bring you further details shortly. For now though, here's a peak at some of the monkey themed packaging:
Monkey packaging here !!!!!!!!!!

More from thedigitalbits.com:
Fox also has planned a 14-disc Planet of the Apes: Ultimate DVD Collection (SRP $179.98) for release on 4/4, which will include all 5 classic Apes feature films, the complete Planet of the Apes TV series, the 2001 Tim Burton remake and the never-before-released Return to the Planet of the Apes NBC cartoon series from 1975, along with the Behind the Planet of the Apes documentary and an additional disc of bonus content.

I'm actually kinda digging the monkey head.

I have the original box set. While non-anamorphic (and no features, other than the bonus disc with the doc) I'm happy with it. But I might think about this one if there's a vast improvement. I hate the Burton version but am wondering what the TV show was like. Is it worth watching?

I still to this day marvel how bad Burton's remake truly was. And that Hollywood yeilded to the most absurd sort of Young Very Smart Actress Who Wants To Look A Certain Way-Vanity... actually tried to make Bonham-Carters chimp a hip, sassy, head-turningly attractive ape.

Wahlberg filling Charlton Heston's shoes. Christ... George Clooney is the closest thing we have to a bigtime leading man who looks like a grown man. I guess Russell Crowe too but he makes himself so difficult to say anything nice about. I'm getting so tired of seeing permanent-teenagers (DiCaprio... Depp... Pitt... Phoenix) in roles that are supposed to be grown up men.

As to this set mentioned above... looks like I'll be getting head pretty soon. Haw haw haw. Must make headroom in shelves. huh huh.

As for the TV series, I used to watch them after school in the late 70's/80's. Just like must animals of the species (TV-spinoffs of hit movies), the plots get a little sillier & harder to believe, the acting veers towards the laughable in spots. The thing working in it's favor in this case is that the makeup-masks (they called them appliances), as well as the set-design of the series was identical to the film... so if you turn the volume down the series looks exactly like the films. So much of the charm & strength of the sequels was the ongoing re-presentation of this well-drawn full world which was so eerily fun to lose one's self in... but of course you'd notice the different cast (kinda like Starsky & Hutch lost in the future, the two actors they used).

In truth I wish they had a smaller version of this box sans the Burton film, the cartoons. I could go either way on the series. It's just a pretty hefty price tag for so much material I'll watch once--if even that (I mean who will watch the cartoons, really watch them repeatedly). I'll take a box with all the films, with HD anamorphic transfers, withall the extras they can squeeze between here and Timbuktu.

I finally got this today as DDD marked it down to $81.
my god, the box the mailman brought was HUGE.
I was also undercharged by DDD, which I wont complain about.
they didn't charge me for shipping for some reason (to Japan)

even though it clearly said on the box [SHIPPING FEE $49.xx]

its gonna take a while to go through all the things on that 14 disc set.....
