anybody get this yet? i'm very tempted to order but there's so many lousy editions of this out there i'd like to hear from someone who has it first (or at least knows a bit more than me about it).

Yes, bought it the week it came out, and yes, it's a must. A breathtaking transfer of this strange and wonderfully compelling film. It includes a very interesting half hour 2005 interview with Lynch as well as some archival interviews and features.

just what i wanted to hear, ordered it now! this has long been a sad gap in my lynch viewing, i always avoided the previous R1 dvds and just recently decided to go region-free, so i'm very excited about this.

Does anyone know the story on why a R1 is being held up? I haven't bothered buying a region free player, I'm afraid.

according to Lynch, the transfer is done, and it is up to Universal to release it... let's hope for a release at the same time as the Twin Peaks stuff

Hopefully it will include footage from the original TV pilot that wasn't included in the theatrical cut.

Some of that is up on youtube, if you haven't seen it yet. The quality is terrible, of course.
