Again, just why they're taking so long to release this is anybody's guess. Classic Neil Jordan: checked. Outrageous story: checked. Patrick McCabe classic: checked. Classic performances: checked. Get it out now!

Has there been any word about this? Is Jordan working on a DVD version? I'm curious whether any of his interviews when Pluto came out had any mention of this release.

Sweet...but I hope it's not just being released in Germany. (The shipping charges to the US are killer!)

I world premiered this film at our fest in 1998... We did a full retro of Neil's work with him present... In the afternoon before the premiere I sat alone in the theatre previewing the first show print with all the opticals - a great experience, then introduced Neil, Pat et al in the evening and watched again sitting with Anthony Minghella......

This is the real reason why Butcher Boy still hasn't been released in R1 land:

I wish that WB had used the artwork for the VHS instead.

Saw this disc today--the print looks good, Jordan's commentary is informative, but the only other extras are 3 brief "additional scenes" (including 2 with Stephen Rea), 3 minutes and 20 seconds total.
