The newly-packaged version of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes is also branded part of the "Marquee Musicals" line. It now has the original poster art and that swell, deco 2oth Century Fox logo to boot.

I'm planning on getting every Carmen Miranda DVD Fox releases. Big fan of the lady! In fact, this Marquee Musicals line seems tailor made for her films. The first one out,
Weekend in Havana was a very good release, complete with trailer, audio commentary, a very nice transfer and even a postcard inside a very classy envelope. And the film itself is charming in a very 40's sort of way.
This week saw the release of another Miranda title:
Down Argentine Way. Still waiting for reviews but that won't stop me from ordering it. I need my Carmen fix! Here are the extras:
Audio Commentary with noted film historian Sylvia Stoddar
Featurette: Betty Grable: Behind the Pin-Up as seen on Biography® on the A&E Network
Exclusive Still Photo Gallery
Collectible Lobby Cards And More!

Miranda fans rejoice!
This page here confirms (among many, many wonderful things Fox related) that
The Gang's All Here will be released this year:
I have to say a word or two of praise for this line of DVDs: they are simply wonderfully produced. The technicolor transfers are eye-poppingly gorgeous; all come with very informative audio-commentaries, booklets and lobby card reproductions inside an envelope; even the cover art is apropriately charming. I'm definitely looking forward to their future releases.

Great news! I tried to ask Sylvia Stoddard about this but very time I call Sylvia, Sylvia's mother says Sylvia's busy, too busy to come to the phone.

I've used alapage before and they always accepted my credit card. Same with amazon.fr. Maybe if you try again later, the problem will be fixed.
As much as I'm eagerly awaiting this particular title, I'm waiting for a potential R1 edition. So far, they've been far superior to the french and UK incarnations in both the extras and packaging departments. But, if the next wave of Marquee Musicals doesn't include this particular title, I will go for the french one in a heartbeat!

Nom de Dieu! That is a lot to pay for postage! And the Euro being stronger than the american dollar doesn't help either.
Well, just make sure that you post some screencaps on the respective thread when it eventually arrives chez vous.

Lino wrote:Thank you very much for these! However, on a first look, they seem to be a tad on the dark side, don't you think?
I agree, too dark. And Carmen Miranda's skin looks...
grey.

Judging by the quantity of exclamation points,
these people on the IMDb message boards seem pretty elated.
