If I honestly had to choose between this, and the forthcoming Blade Runner and Apocalypse Now releases, I'd choose this one in a split-second.

Supposedly, Gilmour wanted his CD out and his tour over before this got released. I believe review copies are already circulating.

Some PBS stations will air the concert starting in August (I believe). And there are some screenings happening in Europe of the concert with the new transfer and surround sound.

It's already being aired on PBS...at least it was in the NYC metro area...in truncated segments, sandwiched in between pledge drives and offers that include a copy of it.

Probably one of the best sound mixes I've ever heard for a concert film, and I'm only judging this from my stereo speakers. I can only imagine what it sounds like on a proper surround system. The aspect ratio is fullscreen, not 16X9 as originally intended. It does the original videotape's transfer justice, and beautifully. The extras are rather interesting, and at times funny. I'm glad the screen films were included, not to mention the alternates.

This release is the reason I bought a DVD player almost 6 years, waiting for it to come out all this time. In that time, I've become a movie fanatic almost by accident. 100 or so DVD's to pass through my collection later, it was well worth the wait.
