How on earth did I miss this? One of my major Criterion wishlist items has been available for almost a year in a 2-disc edition that would seem almost impossible to trump.

The transfer seems to do total justice to Kumel's mesmerising visual sense (unlike Blue Underground's woeful
Daughters of Darkness) and I'd love to see his short films as well.
The only place I can find it available online is at xploitedcinema.com, which should be about £20-ish once shipped.

As a fan of
Daughters of Darkness, I've really been meaning to check this out. Thanks for reminding me.

someone over at Mobius says that BU is working on a remastered 2-disc edition[/url]

You can try
azur.be as well. They're a belgian site and they have very reasonable shipping fees. Also if you're a Kümel fan, you'll definetely love De Komst Van Joachim Stiller . It's only €8 at
azur.be again.

Lord Patchogue, thanks for the link! Muchos cheapness. Can you vouch for the quality of the Joachim Stiller disc? Does it have English subtitles?

Let me vouch for the quality of the Joachim Stiller disc, instead of my dear friend lord patchogue
By the way, i also suggest "
De Loteling" from the same "Kroniek Van De Vlaamse Film" series, by Roland Verhavert. It's another surprisingly powerful film.
Here are all the films of the series:

Among them is one of my all-time favourites, André Delvaux's "De man die zijn haar kort liet knippen".
