I doubt these will be subbed -- but still....

English subs are "possible", I suppose. Les Films de Ma Vie's Derzu Uzala (Kurosawa), Les Boucher, and Le Femme Infidele (Chabrol) at least
have english subs.

This is news I had stopped to even dream of! Hooray! Praying for subs as well (even FRENCH subs would be better than none). Hope they do "Merry-go-round" and "Pont du Nord" any time soon, too..

oh wow, great news! didn't think i'd get another chance to see these films after a train broke down on the track and I missed the NFT screenings.
I don't think the english subs are too much of a problem, there are enough anglo-franco-cinephiles in dedicated film communities on the net that fan subs will inevitably appear at some point.

Any news on this? According to the link, the DVDs should have been released today.
amazon.fr says they are unavailable

According to the linked site, it should have even been out in August...
These French dvd-producers seem to be notoriously unreliable. I encountered the same problem with the forthcoming French release of Powell/Pressburger's "Oh Rosalinda" and with the two new French releases of Paradjanov's "Sayat Nova" and "Forgotten ancestors" (I'm even more eager to have these than the two Rivettes....). But anyway: the simple fact that they are announced should be a sure indication that they all will come soon. But I suspect we will have to wait until early 2007.

I spent over three years waiting for Cahiers to publish their book on Naruse (after the date it was originally announced to come out). ;~}
I recently saw a great looking (German) TV broadcast of "Merry Go Round". So these new DVDs _could_ look pretty nice.
