Curiously this one is out of print. Can't see why and don't expect Mamet to be gung-ho about doing a flashy new edition. Isn't this a fairly popular film (for a Mamet film, at least)? What's up?

Sadly, Sony has/had the rights for this film and they probably discontinued the DVD for the same reason they have discontinued other ones in their catalog: stupidity and greed. Sony has become one of the worst studios/company in the world and their inept desicions are made by how much a title is known in the mainstream and how much copies can their sell. Many films, like Hi-Lo country, The Last Days of Disco along with the Spanish Prisioner have been OOP for quite some time and there is no new releases for those titles in the horizon.

Sony is the master of manufacturing scarcity, it seems.

When was this re-released? Sadly, it doesn´t look like a new flashy edition. Wasn´t there a rumour that Criterion was to release this?

I just got my copy from DD and it looks like these are just remaining copies from the original run, based on the ten-year old security tape at least. So apparently Sony just found a crate of these in their warehouse or something
