The forthcoming (April 18) swedish release of Roy Andersson's second feature will have english subtitles. Good news for fans of Songs From the Second Floor and A Swedish Love Story.

If this is from the same company that brought out the terrific edition of A Swedish Love Story, then we might be able to expect copious extras, all subtitled.

Has anybody seen the film and can comment on it?

i think roy only releases dvds by his own company, same as with a sweish love story and songs from the second floor.

i've seen gilliap, and it's a good movie but i would say that it's not as good as the other two mentioned. it got really bad reviews in sweden on uit's release but is now considered a classic.

Apparently not. This one is going to be released by Sandrew Metronome, as part of their new "Festival Series". Seems to be a pretty bare-bones affair. Info (in swedish).

English subs are not listed on the back cover. I won't be getting my disc until next week, so I can't check until then.

I'm afraid you're right ola. Only one subtitle track: swedish for hearing-impaired. Too bad, it's a good looking disc: progressive with a high avarage bitrate (7.91 Mbps). No extras whatsoever. Strangely the volume id is: Sherdil!?
I'll post some caps in the proper thread.
