Forthcoming from Neue Visionen, a 5 disc box set of the work of German feminist director Helke Sander (perhaps best known for her Redupers, or the All-Round Reduced Personality), with English subtitles on everything. The set is said to be due to be released sometime in Spring 2007.

More info about Sander can be found on her website. Details of the box set are here, including an advance order offer. But if you order now, you will evidently be charged immediately. I also suspect that the quoted price is wrong (over 500 Euros).

The same company offers other 5-disc sets for about 59 Euros. The quoted price for the Sander just has to be a mistake. I shall check with the company and let you know.

I received a reply from Neue Visionen. They wrote:

those 500 Euros are really right and correct. It is indeed a large amount of money, but it is, as i would mean, adequate. On those 5 DVDs there are not only 5 Films, but 8 long films and 7 short films. All of them have never been available before on DVD (or even video) and there was needed to invest really lot of work into the production.

With the purchase you get the right to use the DVDs for various non-commercial usage, and by paying 750 Euros also the right of non-commercial rental in libraries.

I must say I'm dismayed.
