First Look Home Entertainment will be releasing the '60s rock performance film "The T.A.M.I. Show" on June 19th. No word on exact specs, but retail will be $14.98.
I know this title only by reputation, as I've only caught a clip here or there. I'll let those better versed on the subject elaborate.

I wonder if they have access to the original videotape, or if it even survives? The kinescope transfer looks pretty rough in the versions I've seen.

T.A.M.I was shot in Electronovision, a form of closed-circuit TV which was not the usual 525 lines, but around 1000 lines of resolution! This yielded a superior 35mm Kinescope negative. The 35mm Kinescope neg will be used for the DVD transfer, according to the director, Steve Hoffman
on this forum. On the last page, some geezer says that the quality is much better than anything before.

They showed a restored print at the Seattle Film Festival last year and it probably played elsewhere too. Copyright problems were why this had been kept out of circulation for so many decades and people were forced to see bootlegs like you. This is the first video release of any kind for The T.A.M.I. Show.

I "heard" in a music forum that Dick Clark Productions owns the copyright to the release...can anyone substantiate this ?
Thanks, Mike

Release is apparently postponed to a date undetermined.
