A MIA Dick Lester film gets the Fox treatment and the DVDBeaver review.

Pretty tempting, but according to Gary:
Detail appears fair-to-midland but there is often grainy-looking digital noise in much of the background.
but I suppose as long as it doesn't totally Sussex I might consider it.

It does look a bit grainy and foggy in a very 70's kind of way. It also looks very good to my eyes.

I remember watching this one when I was a kid. Definitely going to check it out one day to relive some memories.

I've got to reign in this obscure sense of humor; it's getting me nowhere and endearing me to noone.

Don't worry. Ringo got it. It's only that he has a dry sense of humour and seldom expresses it.

Are we even now?

No no, it was cute. Very Frasier Crane...in a good way.

And so I did. Dick Lester has always been a favorite of mine and he doesn't disappoint with this one. It's quite sad that the movie didn't catch on the way they thought it would because there are still plenty of Harry Flashman books to make films from. Just not with this brilliant cast: Malcolm McDowell as Flashman, Oliver Reed as Otto von Bismark, Alan Bates, Bob Hoskins, Britt Ekland, I mean, you cannot get any better than this! And all in the same movie! And such fun too!
