That might just be one of the most amazingly hilarious things outside anything that R. Kelly is currently doing.

I love Zero Effect too. I think it is one of the best directorial debuts of the past ten years. I'm not sure what happened to Kasdan though. I guess that after directing several episodes of Freaks and Geeks, he fell in with the Apatow crowd. There's nothing particularly wrong with that (I liked Knocked Up and both of Apatow's television series quite a bit), but it doesn't really seem like he's trying anymore. I would have liked to check out The TV Set, but it never even played in Denver, which I guess isn't a good sign.

As for Dewey, I can't remember the last time I laughed less at a trailer, but this could very well be the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band: the Movie of this generation, or at least better than The Ladies' Man. John C. Reilly seems to struggle with comedy, or at least is working on an entirely different wavelength than the comedies he's most prominent in; maybe Tim & Eric could direct his next vehicle? Here's hoping that nepotism doesn't play an exorbitant role in the rest of this thread (but, well, it really should).

It seems in pretty poor taste to steal the part from Walk the Line where Cash's brother actually did die and he remained for a way to make a pretty unfunny joke over it. The whole thing obviously is just a Walk the Line retread using poor satire. I don't see anything redeeming here besides Jenna Fischer deepthroating that ice cream cone.

Not to mention the fact that the actor playing Cash in the older movie has gone through the same thing himself.

But you have to admit the way Walk the Line depicted Cash's brother's death was awkward at best. The portentous black dog lingering in the doorway moments before the fatal accident...puh-leeze. Based on the trailer I saw, it seems Dewey Cox is mocking the standard biopic treatment of family tragedy more than family tragedy itself.

I laughed when I saw who I thought was Paul Rudd, but that was only because I had a flashback to Knocked Up where he was talking about how their hotel room had something like three different types of chairs. I liked Zero Effect, actually didn't mind Orange County (meaning I was able to make it through it) but am not at all thrilled with this. A shame, because I was actually looking forward to it.

That was Paul Rudd! And he alone will make a least a few scenes funny.

I do find it funny that the theme song of the movie is being done in different genres. I'm much more interested in seeing The TV Set, which looks to have better comedic potential. BTW, am I the only one who liked Orange County?

Regardless of how the movie turns out, the poster is hilarious.

Loved Orange County, it had a real personal resonance for me. But it's not exactly a movie you see and go "Wow, who directed that? What a great cinematic voice he has."

And yes, that poster is hilarious.

I am just thrilled that Will Ferrell has nothing to do with this.

The more I learn about this movie, the more I think this might very well be the greatest film of all time.

I don't find the part where Dewey Cox's brother dies to be in such poor taste, they seem to just be making fun of the way tragedy like that is portrayed in Biopics, and how it effects the artists career. Then again, I haven't had a brother die nor have I seen the movie.

But its like the part with the Beatles, they aren't making fun of the Beatles, they are making fun of actors playing the Beatles.

The trailer I saw made the movie look pretty funny. I didn't see any part with a brother dying. This looks to be more of a Superbad/Knocked Up movie than Orange County.

After seeing this I don't think anyone can say the brother's death is in poor taste.
