The DVD is available at
editions montparnasse - with a small clip as preview. I've heard that this is a brilliant documentary. right now its 37€ at amazon.fr.
any opinions on the movie? or, has somebody bought the DVD and would recommend it?

Hi there....
I was hoping someone would post a reply about this one - its a film I wanted to see for years (that and Kramer's 1969 film ICE). Almost nothing can be found in English about this DVD but looking at a review
here - it looks like it has an excellent transfer...My only concern is that the French subs might be forced....hopefully not ! I remember how I first discovered this edition - someone had included it in their 10 Best DVDs of the Year...unfortunately I cannot find the webpage (I think it was Mastersofcinema.org)...Its an expensive set, but I might take a chance...

Whoa. This film looks incredible, judging from the trailer. I can't believe I had not heard of this one before. Huge thanks, guys. I'll order in the new year.

right now you gonna get this dvd-set for 21,89 at amazon.fr -
here
unfortunately i paid more

but got it today!
have not watched the whole movie, but the first impressions:
its two dvds (the movie is 255 minutes), subtitles are removable (both on my pc and my standalone player). the image looks most of the time as good as it gets, on some parts it looks a little bit soft (f.ex. the credits in the beginning, after those i was a little bit concerned). screen captures will follow.
packaging looks like
this.
+ there is a bonus cd with music from the movie.
in october jean pierre gorin had a carte blanche at the vienna filmmuseum and
route one was one of the movies he chose, therefore i was very curious to see it.
