From the producers who put together
Paris Je T'Aime. It is currently in
pre-production.
The directors attached, however, are far less compelling:
Fatih Akin
Yvan Attal
Zach Braff
Albert Hughes
Allen Hughes
Wen Jiang
Joshua Marston
Anthony Minghella
Mira Nair
Chan-wook Park
Brett Ratner
Andrei Zvyagintsev

That sucks. I thought I saw John Hughes's name at first.

You did, Zach Braff then ate him...
not a total loss, though, Mira Nair...

At the very least, the Wen Jiang, Fatih Akin, and Andrei Zvyagintsev (maybe) segments should be interesting. As for the rest...

Finally, a chance to hear what Zach Braff has to say about NYC

That's right, he's yet to chime in about NYC in one of his films.

Akin and Attal are interesting, and it depends on which Hughes brothers show up (hopefully the 'Menace...' rather than 'From Hell' version). But I couldn't stand
Garden State, and Brett Ratner's a talentless hack.
I want to see
Topeka, I love you. We've seen enough films about New York.

I can see this trend a few years down the road:
OKC, You're OK

Oh no, OKC is much too big a city.
I want art that takes risks, dammit!!! Like doing 18 shorts about a small town that doesn't even have eighteen streets. That would take some fucking balls!! Let 'em film in Prague (pronounced with a long 'a'), Oklahoma. It'd just be still shots of rusting refrigerators sitting in people's front yards. That and some old guy whittling.

Will they use the song by LCD Soundsystem?
"New York I love you, but you're bringing me down..."

I think every film buff who read the list has been saying that.

If they had any nous, they'd have hired
Patrick Keiller - just imagine him doing for New York what he's already done for
London!

Why didn't they just call this 'I Love New York'? Seriously.
I guess it makes too much sense for people who think Rattner is an appropriate 'name' director for a film like this.

I'm also pissed they didn't use an exclamation mark in the title. That sucks, man.

The city has a trademark on that phrase, so that might've been an issue.
