I can't see Bruno as having the odd pathos of the Borat film, but it will be out the fucking window, no doubt.
Where's the Alan Partridge film, though?

Great - so he's terrorizing Americans again....Hopefully, he interviews with people a lot because the running around naked is funny, but only to a degree.

Some plot details are
beginning to emerge including:
The Telegraph wrote:Bruno and his boyfriend, Diesel, adopt an orphaned African baby boy called David and parade the child around fashion shows. It is thought the joke is aimed at Madonna, who adopted a Malawian baby called David Banda.
Though in light of his Madonna joke "bombing" at the Golden Globes (frankly, in terms of Madonna jokes, it was pretty tame -- what an uptight room) who knows how much of it will end up on the cutting room floor.

I liked Borat but as a gay man I have to admit feeling conflicted torn about Bruno the film: I'm just concerned that while the film may well be very funny and a very good satire, it may also end up reinforcing the same old stereotypes about gay men. I guess my frustration is that the queer films that get the most exposure in the mainstream are either tragic love stories like Brokeback Mountain (which I did not have much time for) or prejudiced dreck like Chuck and Larry.

Bruno gets NC-17 rating. It's funny how the horror shitty movie of the week gets to be R-Rated but this comedy gets to be NC-17.

The studio has already said they will be re-submitting the film for an R rating. Like the "controversy" that surrounded Zack And Miri Make A Porno, the "curse" of the NC-17 rating is an easy way to get publicity.

Yeah, that publicity worked wonders for Zack and Miri's boffo box office.
I guess the question is whether there will be an appeal first, or if the film was already padded with extra-crass moments in an effort to draw attention from other elements. I don't know how explicit the film is, but am always skeptical to hear about gay sex scenes earning NC-17 ratings, as the MPAA seems to have a bit of a double-standard when it comes to gay sexuality versus straight sexuality (neither of which don't get off (no pun intended) as easily as graphic violence).

True, but this little "controversy" doesn't cost the studio anything. Pretty nice way to get people chatting about the film without even having to cut a trailer.

This just confirms my suspicion that Bruno is going to be two straight hours of the naked wrestling scene from Borat. I, um...can't wait? 8-[
