So I Married an Axe Murderer: Deluxe Edition

Digital Bits has announced a June 17th street date. It's about time! This has always been my favorite Mike Myers film and after its commercial failure he only seemed to do film roles where he buried himself in makeup and costumes. Can't wait to see what extras there will be on this one.

This is great news. Myers' characterization of the father leaves me in agony -- the Rod Stewart scene at the wedding reception especially.
Easily one of the more quotable films of the nineties. ("Head!"; "You're a right sexy bastard, do you know that?"; "There is a piper down... a piper down.")
Anxious to hear about the extras myself.

"She smelled like soup."
Yes, an insanely quotable film, plus I love the references to Kerouac and all the cameos by the likes of Steven Wright, Charles Grodin, Michael Richards and the late-great Phil Hartman ("My name is John Johnson but everyone here calls me "Vicky".")

Very good news. I love this film and its my wifes all time favorite. I have the current DVD and at least it was Anamorphic but this looks to be an even better edition.
"You know that thing on the bottom of a helicopter? I never got to hang on one of those.."
LMAO.
The cop buddie and his interaction with the Police Chief are some of my favorite scenes.

I was just about to get the old DVD since my girlfriend hasn't seen it. (I've told her its an old slasher film starring Mike Myers from SNL, and she got really interested in it)
Now I want to hold off to see the extras, but I'm guessing not much.

Artwork.
According to both DVD Times and DVDActive, this "Special Edition" will have
no extras. #-o I find that a little baffling. Hopefully, the studio is just stalling on revealing them for some bizarre reason.

I find it hard to believe than in 2008 a studio would release a Special Edition DVD with no extras, but from Sony, it doesn't surprise me much.

True. Altho, Universal has to be the worst with their "Special Editions". I can think of so many examples where they've dropped the ball -- The Jerk, Fletch, The Big Lebowski....

wow, when you thought the Special Edition of Sony's 3:10 TO YUMA was sparse....
(theatrical trailers for both versions)
There's gotta be some mistake on this one.... Or just that I'm hoping
