One of my all time favorite movies, but, when does enough become enough? I would never buy this for the packaging or photos or written material - I got better stuff on my walls and in my bookshelves already - but, if there is good new stuff on those discs, then I'm interested.

That set is still a paradigm of restraint and common-sense compared to this:

For a moment I thought the first metal thing to the right in that Casablanca picture was a small bronze dustpan.

The photos are misleading because they're showing you all folds of the digipac. It's not all that bad, and if you're a fan like I am of Blade Runner, you'll find it rather holy, at least for $70...

The real question is this: what's on that third disc? Could it be the alternate happy ending as shown on The Simpsons?

The third disc is the Good German :P

Just what I want from my DVD releases, custom luggage tags

While it does seem excessive, if they were to give that treatment to any of my favorites I would totally snatch it up.

If any of your favorites are JFK, A Christmas Story, I Am Legend, or 300, I've got good news for you.

A Christmas Story! Wow, complete with cookie cutters! Wait... :?

As silly as the idea of including cookie cutters with a DVD is, they're at least a practical bonus trinket for the target audience of the movie, families. A leg-lampshade cookie is far more clever than what appears to be a passport wallet and luggage tag in this set.

just in time for the Presidential election, Warner will deliver a 3-disc JFK: Ultimate Collector's Edition on DVD, including special packaging, 3 hours of bonus content and collectible memorabilia
Just in time for the Presidential election? Er, uh, or the 45th anniversary of the Kennedy Assassination, whichever you prefer. Celebrate America electing its first black president with a special edition of a film memorializing the killing -- and subsequent political cover up! -- of an earlier president who reminds everyone of that same black president!

And what is the collectible memorabilia? A redacted Xerox copy of the Warren Commission's primary source documents? A model of Daley Plaza? A strip of the Zapruder film? A diagram of the magic bullet's trajectory?

Why does Warner Bros. hate Obama?

I doubt that anyone involved thinks this has anything to do with Obama. Its just unbelievable that the blog poster (I have to assume that the language did not come from a Warner's presser) wrote a "just in time for the election" pitch for JFK, a film about the hijacking of the electoral, democratic process through political murder and conspiracy. And especially in light of the fact that the election involves a candidate that reminds the public so much of Jack Kennedy, including assassination fears.

I really hope that JFK box comes with a collectible magic bullet.

The Good German. I can't tell if you're a serious member or an advertising placer. I'll let the post stand, but I've deleted your advertising link anyway because it doesn't belong on the forum.

I don't like that Warner is not including disc 2 on this release. They are forcing people to buy the extra crap edition to get the Jack Warner documentary.

But is the Jack Warner doc anything special? Or is it just your typical middle of the road, Laurent Bouzereau piece?

Does anyone know what has happened with this? I still am not interested in all of the useless crap.
