Hopefully i can attend the premiere next week (if i do not f**k myself up too much over the days…).
Petzold is the one director right now (in Germany) who is walking on the thin red line between arthouse mainstream and art thus getting some more attention than lets say Schanelec - Tomasso, you should definitely check this one out - i truthfully think Yella had some Rivette moments (mystery/dark!) and empathy for the "silent" picture…

Did not make it to the premiere…sold out and too cold outside here in Germany…however i just found these interesting online interviews with Petzold on the CARGO FILM website (a good site!) http://www.cargo-film.de/artikel/das-am ... tzold-/18/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

(general note: i am not sure if people are ok with posting "non-english" links on this site? I would love to see more french, italian, espanol etcetera links here and if i am really interested in the topic i would of course make sure to get this somehow translated via friends - in fact, there are so many non english publications/links that are of major importance but somehow like with the Brody/Godard book the talk is about weak pieces which is quite a pity…)

Saw this last night - Great! (and like with Gespenster and Yella this needs definitely a re-watch on the big screen!)

Me too! (If that's what you mean, franco.)

Caught up with Gespenster recently and liked it, although it wasn't quite as ambitious or assured as Yella (which almost manages to reinvent one of the oldest tricks in the book). I'm very interested to see what Petzold does next, but there doesn't appear to be a UK release on the cards for this one. US, however?

Holy crap! It's coming to Vancouver!

I haven't felt so happy to be part of this city since the last time I felt this way.
