Thread title: Paraguayan Hammock (Paz Encina, 2006)

There is a DVD available from MALBA, but, like the three Lisandro Alonso releases (other than Los Muertos, which was ported by Facets), it appears that you have to actually go to Buenos Aires in order to buy them. More info here. Do try and track a copy down - it's a wonderful film.

A couple of reviews worth looking at: Hoberman (The Village Voice) & Donald Totaro (Offscreen).

It's strange, wasn't Paraguayan Hammocks part of the New Crowned Hope festival? Most of the other films commissioned for that are readily available (I think).

I've got a copy of Los Muertos as a torrent (bad I know). But i'm in the UK, and I don't trust the quality of Facets stuff to be honest. Is the DVD decent?

The answer to that question, funnily enough, is in the Lisandro Alonso on DVD thread that I linked to above.
