But I'd like it if they could standardize all the 2-disc sets into the figure-8 case, as I'm running out of shelf space!
I wish they could be like the Down By Law and Life Aquatic cases, but maybe they don't make those clear.

and every 2 disc set from optimum in R2, but those leave very little space for booklets, although I don't think it would be a problem with most of the CC's recent releases.

I knew Brute Force would be a Criterion title sooner or later. Great covers by the way.

I'd say that Overlord cover is rather poor - it's on just the wrong side of 'cluttered'.

I just bought La Haine on HD-DVD, so unless the features are amazing I'm only buying brute force that month. Did anyone save the La Haine cover that went up, I didn't get to see it...

Damn, didn't even get to see it. Anyone has it stored in their "temporary internet folder"? Please post - thanks!

I saw it but didn't save it because I didn't like it. It had a stark, high contrast black and white wide shot image of the three leads, their faces obscured by the title, which was rendered as a spray painted stencil effect, somewhat like some of the Children of Men posters. My first thought was I hope they change that. (and maybe they are!)

Does anyone else think that the Overlord artwok looks like poorly made fan-art?

That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw the artwork. I'm fan of the new line and believe pretty much all the designs Criterion made since the change are pretty good but this one is the first that truly disappoints me.

I believe is a re-print of something close to the original poster. Imdbhas the same artwork, but some other writings.

With the Brute Force cover complementing that of The Naked City, won't it look a little silly for them to not have consecutive spine numbers?

only if you're nerdy enough to arrange your DVD collection by Criterion spine numbers

All of my digis (box sets) pop out. :(

I am amazed, Bicycle Thieves actually looks worse in person! (picture of box on internet=in person)
