Anybody know anything about this title? Browsing silentera.com I came across this release from Grapevine, who claim that it's considered "one of the 50 greatest films of the silent era"... the funny thing is reading the description here strikes me like somebody switched the fucking description from Murnau's CITY GIRL.
Also-- anyone seen E. E. DuPont's Moulin Rouge?... this is he of PICCADILLY & VARIETE' fame.

My understanding is that its reputation mainly comes from its inclusion in Joe Franklin (i.e. Bill Everson's) "Classics of the Silver Screen" where, at the time, it was thought to be a lost film. Everson compares its "claustrophobic atmosphere" to The Wind. The only version I'm aware of is the one offered by Grapevine which is in really rough shape.
