Does anyone work in the Home Entertainment sector of the Industry? If someone does could they perhaps give some tips on how to break in? I am still at university (part time) and working (full time) and am now looking to break out of my boring accounts job during the summer.

If anyone has any information in this area, right down to good areas to get in at the bottom I would be eternally greatfull.

Thanks

Hi FSimeoni,

Interesting question-how to get into the "industry".

I work in a related company-not technically in the Home Entertainment market-but for a large broadcaster who deals with the HE sector and I would have to say it is very difficult to get into (I should know as I was recently trying to find another job and didn't get anywhere !!)

I don't know what your skills are or what kind of position you are keen on (there are lots of boring mundane jobs in the sector as well-accounts included).

All you can do is write to companies and ask-maybe ask for any temp work going-also there are a number of media temp/job agencies that would be worth visiting as well-this maybe your best bet-ads are in The Guardian job section.-Once you get your foot in the door thru' temp work its always easier to find out about perm.jobs.

Hope this helps.
