According to Frank Miller both Sin City 2 and Sin City 3 are in pre-production stages, but blames "studio delays" for the holdup in getting them filmed. He also mentions that "A Dame To Kill For" will be the basis for SC2 and "Hell And Back" for SC3.

Well, Madsen is excellent in 5 films, and he knows what's what. He did an interview for Premiere Magazine in which he said that he's only remotely proud of Kill Bill, Donnie Brasco, Reservoir Dogs, Species, and Free Willy, the 5 films I love that he has a role in. He said the rest of the movies he's done are mostly for the paychecks and that unless its a great script or quentin is involved, he'd rather focus on his poetry and phone in his performances. I'm paraphrasing ofcourse, but it was very much along those lines. I think the Sin City performance he gave was tough though, such a small part (not sure how much time miller and rodriguez devoted to making sure he knew his character, they were probably busy with everyone else) and being inexperienced in terms of blue screen worlds, he may be able to pull Sin City 2's meatier role off.exte wrote:Wasn't he just the worst? I was going to quote his interview as proof he didn't know what he was doing, but I thought better of it. He's pretty terrible in general, and it seems he does that squinting thing in real life, too!SncDthMnky wrote:Madsen was terrible in Sin City. I hope he takes some notes from the others for the sequel.

I'm not sure if it's legit or not, but background and extra casting calls have gone out all over Craigslist today for Sin City 2. Some of the links lead to a casting site which requires a membership fee for contact info so I'm not sure if it's an elaborate ruse to scam people of cash or if the project is finally back on track.

Re: Sin City (Miller/Rodriguez/Tarantino, 2005)
Jaime King says Sin City 2 has been pushed back again due to studio tinkering and disagreements with the director(s). Frank Miller is finished the script which is apparently based on his existing work as well as some new stuff he's decided to put in.

Well, any hopes of a sequel in the foreseeable future are dead. The Weinsteins have lost the rights.

If only Frank Miller could direct and tell an interesting story at least 5% as well as he can draw. Please save me from this sexist, über violent crap he has been trying to pass off as film.

The release for the first movie had that too, only it's extremely sped up.

According to that blu-ray.com blurb, it sounds like this one is the same way.swo17 wrote:The release for the first movie had that too, only it's extremely sped up.
