Ooh, came out today? Let's see some online prices, folks. Sounds like something I need to import NOW.

For me it's been the best film I've seen in theaters so far this year. Granted, I've only seen three films in theaters, but still...

The US version of the DVD is only 1 disc and will be missing many features,
but the HD-DVD combo will have all the UK features on it.

right now it's 13.98, 44% off at amazon uk,
$27.95 at cdwow us

HMV also has an exclusive cover, if that's your kind of thing. And if you're buying this from Amazon UK, they have the wonderful Shaun of the Dead DVD for £4.98 if you haven't picked it up yet.

If my calculations stand correct, will get this around noon tomorrow.
This will be my big task tomorrow. Watching the movie for the first time and going through all the bonus material. I doubt I will finish them all, but it will be a fun day.

I wasn't sure if I should make a thread in the regular DVD News & Discussion forum for this, but Wal-Mart is selling a two-pack of Hot Fuzz that includes the second disc of the UK set as the other disc. The shitty thing is that the movie itself appears to be fullscreen in the vast majority of the 2-packs - I made a rare trip out to Wal-Mart today to try and find a widescreen two-pack and they didn't even have the movie by itself in widescreen. A few people on other forums have had success finding widescreen copies though, so I guess it's all about location, location, location. People are also saying that you can buy the two-pack, separate the two cases (the bonus disc is in a separate Amray), and return the movie for a widescreen copy.

Is Wal-Mart keeping fullscreen going at this point? I was blown away to see how heavily they favor fullscreen, even for a title they had a million copies of like 300 there were only a few widescreen copies, and they were all on the bottom shelf.

But even with the second disc, the 3 additional commentaries are still missing, you only get the Wright/Pegg commentary.

It might frustrate some US viewers since in that commentary, Pegg frequently says "ya, I mentioned more about that in the other commentary...." so he doesn't go into the details, assuming that the DVD has all 4 tracks on it.

also, I'm not sure whats up with DEAD WRIGHT on the US discs,
on press releases I've read, it says "An EDITED version of Dead Wright"

The UK disc runs for about 40 minutes including intro from Wright, and bloopers at the end. What about the US disc?

The Region 2 is definitely contender for DVD of the year.
