Harsh Light Of Morning Falls

You know, I'd probably react the same way if I was that woman.

I dunno, I'd be excited to find another Hellraiser 2 fan. And, uh, Point Break has its defenders.

Plus:
"As I got dressed, Marc sat up in bed and took my hand, telling me he had the day off from work if I wanted to stay in with him," Pearle said. "I considered it, but then I noticed the Vince Vaughn version of Psycho on the nightstand, so I made up something about having to meet my professor in half an hour."
Well don't tell that to these guys!

Well, I'm the proud owner of three copies of Borowczyk's The Beast, so God alone knows what a potential one-night stand would make of that!

(Copies two and three have rare shorts as extras - or at least that's my excuse!)

I still can't convince a single person Miami Vice is a good flick. Fortunately, the spine doesn't stick out and people are more prone to saying "I've never heard of any of these movies before". Which came in handy actually, last month when I had a burglary. Out of about 300 dvds including several boxed sets and Criterions, all that went missing was Star Wars and Spider-Man, and they left Robert Altman's 'Popeye' on the kitchen table, as if they were trying to figure out what it was.

The only time I ever got burgled, they took the cheap and nasty VHS VCR, but left the expensive, nice and far harder to replace Betamax one...

Stupid burglars. Don't they know Criterion DVD's are pricey?

Preach it!

Seriously, this is the hardest film to convince people on. They think Miami Vice and they think pastels and Flock of Seagulls, and the few that have seen it hate it. Honestly, one of the best films of last year.

Ssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! You never know who's casing this forum!!

I agree on Miami Vice, btw. I liked it a great deal. When I saw it in theaters, I couldn't hear parts of the dialogue (due to occasionally poor sound, but also a loud movie in the theater next door), but it was still excellent, and got better with a second viewing.

My dad was burgled last fall, they took all of his DVD's except the first two seasons of Soap!, the first of which was a Christmas present from me and my brother.

It's all about context, I think Marc makes his collection choices by what he finds in the Wal-Mart bargain bin. One could make Holy Man or Hard Rain appear to be a lot more significant if they are next to anything Criterion releases, regardless of what title it is, though Holy Man is a great film, and Hard Rain is one of the better films of it's type.
Marc probably hates movies though, and never watches those movies. Everyone just has to have a dvd collection now, with out one, he'd probably get no dates. So he loses a cultured girl girl because of it, I'm sure there are many more that stay because of it.

I don't think that anyone with a copy of the Beast (me!) is going to be having any one night stands any time soon. Really good movie.

No, but they probably knew they were subtitled.

As Snake said in an episode of The Simpsons "Oh, No! BETA!"
