"Distant Voices, Still Lives" is being released by Bfi Video on July 30, 2007 as announced earlier in "Master of Cinema" worldwide dvd calendar.

Considering the wait that's been involved for all these years, I'd suggest hanging on a little longer to see what Criterion do with the Davies films. I would really hope to see the complete autobiographical set (modelled on the Cassavettes box) starting from Madonna and Child to The Long Day Closes, with the Southbank show from '92 thrown in for good measure. The material is just too damn important to let slide by. In dreamland, Criterion will be offering Davies the chance to add his two cents worth to the upcoming Ophuls DVDs as well.

Sadly, the disaster that is BFI site still hasn't even listed Distant Voices, Still Lives for release, so there is no way to know what extra material may be added, if any.

I may have missed something but do we know if Criterion have the rights to Davies' work ?

I caught LDC and DV, SL recently at the NFT and much preferred LDC as well !..but couldn't make the showings of the trilogy sadly...so a box set would be a great idea !
