So, I'm heading off to college next year and want to bring my 600 or so DVDs. I feel like a huge binder would work, but do they damage discs? I've never used one. Would there be any other devices you guys would recommend?

I brought about half of my 650 DVDs. Some in their original cases and some in those ultra-slim CD-cases.

Probably a little more cumbersome than the folder option, but you can be sure they won't damage the disks.

I've been using a big binder for three years and haven't seemed to have any problems, FWIW. I have heard other people say that they can scrape off coating over time, but not my problem.

One thing to consider is that having your DVDs in one portable unit makes them more stealable - I have a friend who lost a huge chunk of their CD collection that way.

it depends on the binder pages. make sure that the discs fit all the way into the sleeves, and don't peek out and chafe against any plastic outside of the sleeve. i lost quite a few scratched discs in a previous binder for this reason.
