Eh...I don't know. I mean, it's certainly creative. And it's surprising that a major studio would put forth such a cover, but I'm a really big fan of the original poster.

Fantastic cover. It's refreshing in a era when UNRATED EXTENDED DIRECTOR'S OUT OF CONTROL CUT! tends to dominate the cover of these kinds of releases.

It doesn't look right in a keepcase; a digipak would be more fitting, but I don't believe Paramount does them.

You know, I just can't understand why Fincher is the only one who manages to squeak these out. Is there such solid marketing data backing up all the crap we usually see? Or does the studio see a vast following of Mr. Fincher to allow for this sort of step? I don't necessarily wish all dvd covers were this good, but maybe a handful more? I saw a cover for Total Recall in another thread and got all excited until I realized it was fan art... (Boy we are passionate about these things here, aren't we? lol)

I'm sure it's possible that he has it written into his contracts, much like Wes Anderson seems to have some control over how his films are released on DVD.

They have a few times for single-discs, and their television releases.

I really like that cover. Better than the one previously announced at least.
The supplements sound excellent as well so I`ll be getting this without a doubt.

I managed to get my hands on an advanced copy of this one. Wow, the commentary tracks alone are worth the purchase. Fincher delivers a typically solid one but, for me, the real keeper is the one with James Ellroy, James Vanderbilt, Brad Fischer, Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey Jr. Not surprisingly, Downey and Ellroy's comments are the highlights. Haven't had a chance to check the second disc but looks like lots of goodies as well.
