Well, I hope this subject hasn't already been posted elsewhere (I did look but didn't find anything exactly comparable). If it has, please feel free to move it accordingly.

I am presently desperately trying to get hold of the new Brazilian DVD of Oliveira's Espelho Magico, as advertised here. However, this has been a bit of a challenge. Those of you who have attempted to sign up on sites which are not in your principle language understand what I mean. Anyway, it isn't just the language barrier, which is more or less manageable with babelfish and so forth, but the real trick is navigating the registration form requirements when they seem as cryptic as the puzzles in Myst. In this particular case I remain stuck because I have no idea what CPF/CNPJ is and how to fill out the requisite field. Apparently I have to fill in something (it won't let me not do that) but no matter what I put there I keep getting rejected. So, what I was hoping was that someone here might have either some idea about that or some notion of who might carry a solid selection of import discs from Brazilian manufacturers--the production company for the above title is Paris Filmes.

This looks like a great disc for a film which may never show up on region 1 so I'm getting pretty frustrated. I did contact Tony at xploited as it seems like the kind of thing he might be able to procure and might be interested in. Short of that, I can't imagine what else to do other than attempting to contact some of these sites from Brazil personally. But that's a wearisome ordeal to contemplate.

I just registered on the site you linked to and they didn't ask me for my CPF (= tax payer's ID, if I'm not mistaken). Where in the registration process did this field appear?

Here is another Brazilian site that has some excellent stuff.

I've been looking for a copy of 'Ilha Das Flores' for such a long time and this four-disc, English-language-friendly set of Casa de Cinema's shorts looks amazing. Sadly, much like John Cope, I've had such trouble purchasing that I'm more than frustrated. Does anyone own this set or can comment on this seller?

Hi John Cope! If you want the ESPELHO MAGICO dvd, try www.cinedvd.com.br. The site is in Portuguese, but if you e-mail the customer service desk (central do atendimento) you´ll probably get, as I did, prompt replies in good English. They advised me to write 111.111.111/11 in the CFP box. I did it and my order was accepted. They ship to most countries as far as I can see.

Nuovo usuario means new user. Senha means password. Comprar means buy. Pedido means purchase/shopping cart. First time customers will be asked to repeat their username and password before final OK (finalizar) of purchase. Buying procedure resembles Amazon and so on and is easy to follow through 4 or 5 numbered steps, clearly stated on each page.
