It's probably not a good idea to aim the gun in one direction and look in the other.

That's how I always get MY revenge. I don't know how about you look-and-shoot, but I ALWAYS get my man. Or woman, I suppose.

Is that a "help wanted" ad or a Craigslist personal?

You know, that one is pretty horrendous. Actually, I really hate that one more than any other one in this thread. The "Nanny Wanted" clipping is the crowning touch.

Was this a separate TV special (currently unavailable in the season sets) or a budget comp of themed Holiday episodes?

This is one of the two amazon.com customer reviews: "My son loves the origninal Munsters - and I ordered this just for fun. I knew it was not the original cast, but I still had reasonable hopes. This was very disappointing. While the actors did a good job of filling their roles - the story was much edgier than any other Munster show I have seen. Santas elves were portrayed as selfish little horny brats, there were several instances of inappropriate innuendo, and there was foul language. Had I known I would not have bought it for my son. I dont think the original cast would have approved of what was done - I know I didnt."

Anyway looks like some kind of 2-hr TV special from who knows when... I just figured it was Fred Gwynne on the cover.

New Line sued over this doc, citing unfair capitalization on their property. I WOULD say that between this and everything else they've ever done they REALLY have their heads up their asses. Except I won't. Because they'd sue me and take my house away.

It's got Ann Magnuson AND Mary Woronov in it and was directed by the guy who did Duran Duran's "The Chauffeur" video (and shamelessly ripped off Helmut Newton in the process). I can't decide if that's awesome or depressing.

Innuendo? Foul language? Christmas? Surely they go together like a turkey being violently stuffed? What could have offended a viewer of a programme featuring vampire children and a lead character made out of stitched together body parts?:

"I tell ya, if those two elves don't stop screwing in the grotto and get back to wrapping f'ing presents I'll put my boot up their backsides. Now help me get into this corset Mrs Claus or I'll have to ride the sleigh naked like last year!"

I don't know if bright colours used on a box for a Bergman film just makes it all seem more depressing rather than less - like stringing up Christmas lights around a homeless shelter.

I love how misleading that Sawdust & Tinsel cover is.

...and speaking of hilariously misleading covers:

The New York, New York cover was posted a couple of pages back. I think someone mentioned it was the original poster, or at least some of the original art done or the film.

I don't know what to make of this.
I guess they just went for the goofy type of covers Disney uses for its family fare,

Link seems reluctant to work.
It's a German PG-looking film entitled Sams in Gefahr. Really the costume and make-up of the title character are worse than the mediocre cover design.

The Germans have some horrible covers, here's one we were mistakenly sent at the video store (it was supposed to be Noah Baumbach's Highball, I'm not sure how that mixup happened).

Image the customer's shock when they discover the film is in French. And, worse, the hottie on the left isn't Lesbian.

PictureThis! is notorious for their misleading covers. They make it appear that most of their films are softcore pedophile gay porn. Nearly all of them are foreign and nearly none of them are "gay":

Allegedly. Somewhere or other I saw it mentioned it was going to be anamorphic.

MGM has stopped indicating anamorphic on their covers, so any more it's a crap shoot, even though often they actually are. Have to wait for reviews to be certain any more.

If that's the case, whoever designs those covers has a serious fetish/fixation. One wonders is human resources has been alerted.
