Granted I pre-ordered this stuff only on New Years Day but DVDPlanet has not shipped any of the titles to me yet (not even Postwar Kurosawa which came out this week). I wish they would hurry up !

Methinks they're backlogged; I received shipping confirmation for Postwar Kurosawa on the 15th and This Sporting Life today, having placed my order in mid-December.

I received This Sporting Life today from DVD Planet, two weeks after shipping, which is strange given that it shipped a few days after Postwar Kurosawa, which shipped almost three weeks ago. Has anyone else had an experience like this (one item shipping from the same supplier later but arriving earlier than another item from the same place)? Should I be concerned about the Kurosawa? The first part of my order with DVD Planet came relatively quickly (for a US to Canada shipment, a week and a half isn't bad, especially so given that it was coming over the winter holidays), so I got spoiled, I guess. It's probably just poor postal service (I'm going through two systems, after all), but I thought I'd check here anyways to see if anyone else has been similarly afflicted.

DVD Planet has been wonky as hell lately. Today I tried to pre-order Pierrot Le Fou and Walker and the screen kept telling me my credit card had expired (which it hadn't). I called customer service and this awfully nice lady (so refreshing that there are still very nice and helpful people doing phone customer service) and she verified my credit card was still good but it was something in the system.

In any event, she took my order over the phone and game me a shitload of frequent buyer points for my trouble. But in any event, there is something quirky going on with the interface at DVD Planet.

Has anyone received their coffee mug from the December Eclipse promotion? I'm tired of drinking out of discarded digipacks.

This is probably just me, but has anyone who ordered Postwar Kurosawa from DVD Planet not received it yet? I got This Sporting Life late last week, which shipped earlier than Kurosawa by two days. Has anyone ever had similar problems/arrival anomalies (perhaps my being in Canada makes a difference)?

Yes, that happens to me a lot with DVD Planet. Shipments that arrive after items which shipped before usually have duty attached to them.

That makes sense. Oh, customs...I've been extremely lucky with orders the past few months, though, so I can't complain.

Nope. Still waiting on it, Walker, and The Last Emperor. Although that's nowhere near as bad as having waited a month for Postwar Kurosawa (presumably never sent/lost in the mail) and now an additional 2+ weeks for the delivery of another one. Could be worse, I guess...

I'm waiting on both Pierrot le Fou and Last Emperor, but if the bubble-mailer rumor is true, I'm hoping that they're waiting to send them together in a box. I'd be more than happy to wait an extra week if it means undamaged packaging and easier delivery.
