Vantage Point (Pete Travis, 2008)

I saw the trailer for this before There Will Be Blood tonight, thought it has promise and looks like the kind of thrillers Pakula used to churn out.

Really? To me it look utterly preposterous. It seems like it will just be a lot of people running around shouting "Go! Go!" and talking about things being "compromised". I'm also getting tired of seeing this trailer as it's been in front of nearly every film I've seen for the past three months.

I found the trailer to be action-packed and fast paced to the point of being laughable but to each his own. It seems like Rashomon by the way of 24/The Kingdom from what I saw, but of course, it is a trailer.

But your right, we need some Pakula-style paranoid thriller these days. I just don't think this is it.

The most laughable part of the trailer is the four-speaker explosion that isolates the score into each corner of the cinema before the big bang. Give me a break.

Call me a sucker but when they revealed it wasn't even the president getting assassinated, I was like, "IT WASN'T?!?!" I did chuckle when Matthew Fox got higher billing than the Oscar-winning actors

I think I already posted the trailer here, for what it's worth.

The beauty of Domino Harvey is that he cannot imagine a forum where he is not always one step ahead.
