I don't know that this counts among the worst DVD covers of all time. I mean MGM has certainly done worse, and at least they've done away with their usual "big head with action in the background" style. I may be going out on a limb here, but I almost kinda like it...

Is THE ARAB CONSPIRACY a retitled version of Connery's mid-70's politcal thriller THE NEXT MAN? His photo looks about the right vintage and that looks like Cornelia Sharpe in the lower right hand corner. Haven't seen it since back in the day. Must be in PD hell.

I didn't know John Melendez did anything except announce for Jay Leno. And I always wondered why he got a verbal credit. I mean, I guess it's so he can get offers like this.

The empty space, the grey cartoon cityscape, the overly tiny logo, the photos of ladies clipped from a personals ad...and that glow! It's like the inverse of conceptually good taste, all wrapped up in one cover. And I miss Stuttering John like I miss the Mighty Mighty Bosstones: only after midnight.

edit: I think the dead white space under the title might be for Jeffrey Ross' unattached head.

I'm relieved to find that in 2104, even in the face of widespread chaos and destruction, cleavage is still important.

Has anyone, anywhere ever been confused and bought one of these cheap rip-offs thinking it was the real thing?
EDIT TO SELF: Actually, it's exactly the sort of thing my nan would buy me as a present, regardless of whether she knows it's fake or not...

This film is from 1962.

But yeah, that cover is terrible. It looks like the Spartans are waiting for a bus.

I'd like to see those Spartans at a dinner party at Luis Buñuel's place.

I remember much earlier someone commenting that there are many atrocious German covers. But I find that some of the Japanese covers tend to be the most slapdash and ugly things. The Straw Dogs cover being a fine example, but I haven't sourced it on the Net, yet.

Wearing metal during a thunderstorm certainly isn't the best thing, that's 300 spartans minus a few on that cover.

The cover rox, but the title is oddly unenticing.
