Are there any other portions of the film where the yellows appear pink? Very unusual effect.

I don't know about retail places, but my wholesaler (the one of the majors) has this note for the Kubrick box: "Moratorium - this item cannot be ordered from the vendor or backordered" EWS is in the same status.Go figure what's going on...

I had to cancel my order from DVDPlanet because I had waited over a month and still no set.

Simply amazing. Kubrick would be apoplectic if he were here to see it (but then, I think we can all agree, it would've never happened to begin with).

Anyway I'm glad I held out until I make the transition to HD.

Lolita and Lyndon
They both deserve great special editions separate from the box.

No. See HERE and HERE.

Maybe next time, Warner.

They probably sold out of original print run of EWS/BR. So another run, with corrected artwork, is probably what's going on. (Artwork indicated both censored and uncensored versions were included; only uncensored one is.)

Oh, but since everything that is or has EWS (BR/HD/DVD) is apparently on moratorium, this probably applies to all of them, including box set.

So, is the DVD boxset in moratorium now? And if so, are the separate releases still available?

The old box with the street date 10.23.07 is on moratorium, but there is a new box, identified as the "New Pkg", which available from 01.29.08. Most likely, the cover art of Shining is now the correct one (not the same as available separately)...

There was also an EWS snafu with the rated/unrated versions both having the same box.

Speaking of snafus, the R4 version not only has the shorter 'international' cut of The Shining, but the 1966 Kubrick interview on 2001 has been removed for no particular reason. :(

The UK set is coming out in March (Amazon link), but doesn't appear to be any different to the R1 (specs from DVD Times).

Amazon has this back in stock, although there's no indication that all issues (incorrect colour in The Shining, branching on EWS, covers for those with OCD) have been addressed.

I noticed one UPC of it get switched to OOP a couple weeks ago at Michael's Movie Mayhem. That site has three UPCs of Barry Lyndon listed, all now OOP.
