Armando Robles Godoy

#1 Post by Taketori Washizu »

Has anyone seen any of Armando Robles Godoy films? Not much on him, even on IMDb. Ebert put The Green Wall and Mirages on his top ten lists for the years they came out.

They are interesting even if a bit derivative of Antonioni and other 60's directors. Some effects are overdone, and I hate the post dubbed audio, as fake as that of the worst Italian films, but they have moving parts, some good ideas and a peculiar sense of humor.

His films are extremely difficult to locate these days. Only GREEN WALL is available on a crappy VHS transfer and goes for big bucks on amazon and friends.
