dvdtalk seems to think it is. I was wondering if that was a joke review.

DVDTalk lost whatever was left of their credibility by essentially being bought by Frontier(s) this week.

Karen Allen looks like one of those cheaply lit skulls in the old AIP films.

Tell me about it. That has been the most stupid ad I have ever come across on an Internet forum. The geniuses who came up with that have to be the same ones that produce the atrocious covers we put in this Hall of Shame. And to think that the site was aiming for a more "family friendly" atmosphere.

Umm, hang up?

An amazon search for Sean Pertwee (perhaps the first time anybody has done one) turns up these gems:

that "Blue juice" cover is really quite amazing in a po-mo sort of way. Catherine's rubbing one out while Ewan transform into a giant wave for a midget to surf on. This is really straight from a David Lynch surfer porno.

The tagline should say, Life is Confusing When The Giant In the Clouds Chases Me With His Model Airplane.

Whe is Kino going to realize that the Barney purple doesn't suit the cover of DVDs?

Kino would be bringing in a younger crowd of DVD cinephiles if only they would fire Old Man Corel Draw who's been designing their covers since VHS was just a twinkle in a Japanese man's eye.

This has been floating around youtube for a couple years and spawned lots of imitators. Much of the stuff on the link above is on this youtube.

It's from an original release poster but it looks awful as a low-rez DVD cover.

According to the artist it was never actually used as a poster for the original release. The artwork looks fine on the artist's site here, but they've boosted the contrast and tweaked the colours for the DVD cover, so that Harrison now looks kind of sunburnt and puffy.

Deja vu.

But yea whoever designed that imageblocker clearly has not seen the film "dvdactive image available exclusively from wwwdotdvdactivedotcom". Its almost like the cover is for a completely different film.

Standing in line at Whole Foods tonight, spending too much on some mushrooms, I noticed the guy behind me pick up that Rolling Stones dvd from the checkout display and ponder the cover at close range. I was hoping his head would explode or something, but it didn't happen.

The mushrooms tasted fine in my pasta sauce.

Mushrooms used to also go very well with late-60's early 70's stones. Now you just get sleepy with slight nausea.

Coincidentally, I'm sure Mick Jagger would agree.
