Pretty strange.

I think we followed this about as well w/o subs as we would have if we had had them. ;~}

I think you guys are talking about two different discs. Dadaistnun linked the r3hk disc - which has english (and chinese) subs - but incorrectly claimed it was "region 2". The r2jp disc, as kerpan notes, has no subs of any kind.

I didn't look at the linked item. just saw the R2 reference. I suspect the cheaper (and subtitled) R3 is a better bet for most folks here. The R2 does look pretty nice though.

Sorry about the confusion; I'd just been looking at something else that was in fact r2.

I suppose the confusion -- and subsequent order cancellation! -- could've been avoided if I'd gone with my initial thought and simply asked if Michael was sure it was the R3 copy he was talking about. :)

Ah well, I just reordered from another vendor (so as not to give Yesasia even more of a headache) where it was even cheaper and actually found some other things to pick up as well. No worries!

I just wish I had realized that a subbed R3 was coming out at the same time as an unsubbed R2 (which I could have sworn WAS supposed to be subbed at one point).

Thanks, Michael. Those are helping me cope with my copy not having come in yet. :?

For the sake of completeness, there's an R1 DVD of this out now.

Has anyone seen the Lionsgate disc? Looks like they actually threw in a few extras, including "two alternate endings" (?!) that I'm a bit curious about.
