It would be great if they also include Elem Klimov's documentary about Shepitko. Of those 8 films, only 4 are feature films. They may as well include Farewell. She was killed during pre-production and her husband finished it.
This gives me hopes that Criterion will try to release other directors' TV work via Eclipse, most of which has never been seen since originally airing. So many possibilities, and outside of not selling very well, the costs of transferring the tape masters probably wouldn't be too cost-prohibitive so that it wouldn't take much to recoup.

I think the subtext of her piece is, while there is coming a shiny new Blu-Ray line, alongside the ongoing SDVD catalogue, it all comes down to the films, which remain the same on whatever format... So they expect to maintain both for quite some time to come...

They should be offering their films by digital download, like Amazon unbox. Not only is it inevitable, but it would let them capitalize on more of their titles before bluray takes over the market.
